The Escravous Lagos Pipeline Project, Phase II – (ELPII Project) was sponsored by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The project was initiated to expand the existing Escravous – Lagos Gas Pipeline System from the existing capacity of 1.1 billion cu feet /day to the new capacity of 2.2 billion cubic feet per day. The intention of the second phase of the project was to provide the Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction of the 36 inches’ x 342 Km, Class 600 Gas Transmission Loop Pipeline from PS-01, Escravous to PS-05 Itoki
Terminal, Lagos State. The EPC Contractor was Zakhem Construction Nigeria Limited who awarded a contract to MJD to construct a 36-inch, 25km gas pipeline between KP247 to KP272 within PS03 to PS04 segment of the Project transversing firm ground, Road crossing, swamp, seasonal swamp, Waterbody crossing etc.
Project Deliverables

- Right of Way Bush Clearing of 25m x 25,000m
- Excavation of 3m x 2m x 25Km
- Stringing and Complete Welding and Tie-in of 25Km Pipeline
- Field Joint Coating, Pipe Coat Repairs and Holiday Detection of 25Kmm Pipe string
- Lowering of welded spools totaling 25Km
- Backfilling of 25Km scope.
- Site Cleanup, Reinstatement and Closeout Reports.

Project Outcome
The MJD Oilfield Services Limited scope of work was Competed in July, 2015. The Actual Project Duration was 21Months. The project was completed on time and exactly on budget. The Stakeholders were extremely satisfied with the project.
