The Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline Project (AKK Project), sponsored by The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), involves the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of a 40-inch, 303.4 km gas pipeline, being Segment 1 of the entire 40-inch, 614 km AKK Project. The objective of the AKK Project is to construct a gas pipeline designed to transport up to 2.2 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day. This project aims at enhancing Nigeria’s electricity generation capacity by adding 3,600 MW to the national grid and to meet the energy demands of gas-based industries.
MJD was engaged by EPC Contractor- OILSERV to carry out mainline welding of 40-inch, 5Km Pipeline segment crossing rocky, plain and water channels terrains. The scope of work includes the following:
